What is BL+?

BankLOGIN+ ("BL+" or "BLP") enables businesses to evaluate a customer's ability to pay/repay with bank account insights.

It combines the latest bank intelligence and decisioning analytics to expose 8,400+ attributes and 9 risk scores per applicant with easy-to-understand recommendations.

Once a bank account information and transactions are collected (through the CONNECT widget or from an external bank aggregator), our analytics engine generates attributes, risk scores, and recommendations within seconds.

Is this the right product for my business?

ValidiFI's REST API contains 3 INSIGHTS products:

• BankQUALIFY - Use basic PII and account/routing number to quickly identify the lead quality.
• BankVERIFY+ - Use basic PII and account/routing number for deep insights and recommended actions.
• BankLOGIN+ - Use credentialed account and transaction information to uncover thousands of attributes and recommended actions.

All three INSIGHTS products can be used through the ValidiFI API.

You may consider using BankQUALIFY to catch the most blatant issues, then using BankVERIFY+ to gain deeper understanding with minimal customer effort. You could then waterfall some concerning leads from BankVERIFY+ into a bank login to gain transaction data and then into BankLOGIN+ for thousands of attributes and deep understanding of those transactions.

BankLOGIN+ can be called through API if you already have transaction information, or that information can be gathered from the CONNECT interface.

Integration Overview

The test environment is a sandbox that enables you to interact with and integrate ValidiFI products without the need for real customer or account information. The test environment has its own web portal and its own subdomain for API calls.

Follow this guide to integrate BankLOGIN+ with the developent tools and shortcuts available in the test environment. Transitioning into production is very simple, and is covered later in this guide.

Recommended Action Code

The Recommended Action Code (RA Code or RAC) is a response code that summarizes the strength and stability of the payment affordability, payment default risk, fraud and identity. This will be one of the following codes or "buckets":

Behavior Indexes

These indexes provide the ability to toggle up or down the stability around affordability, stability, identity, and income on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the most stable).

1. Affordability

   The ability to afford an additional payment over time as measured by prior payment activity and returned payment activity vs. the proposed spending amount.

2. Income

   Stability of income sources (timing, amount, and variation in source over time)

3. Stability

   The stability of the spending (e.g. amount, retailer, and date vs. random retailers and amounts) indicates how stable the behavior towards the use of the bank account is.

4. Identity

   Comparison of provided PII with affiliation to the account and transaction data that backs it up.

Scores and Reason Codes

9 different generic scores for fraud, consumer, small business, and e-commerce/retail payment behaviors.

Each score is built from a combination of real lender and retailer outcomes and weighted against actual bank behavior return codes to run on a scale from 100 to 300, with 300 being lowest risk.

The result are scores for early and later default as well as fraud and charge off use that provide a quick-start with strong rank ordering.

Attribute Modules

KYC / Contact

A suite of ~900 attributes designed to provide KYC validation and fraud metrics about an applicant’s PII against their bank account(s) and credentials. Useful for KYC, fraud modeling (first party, third party, ATO, etc.), and credit risk account management.

Account / Balance

A suite of ~500 attributes that provides current snapshot status of an account(s) along with a deeper profile of the trended history in the account. Information about day of week, weekly, and monthly statistics are also included.

Inflows

A suite of ~2,200 attributes that details the inflow behavior for the account(s) and looks at key categories of inflows including payroll, transfers, savings, cash management, taxes, and other groups. The attributes are trended at a daily, weekly, and monthly level and include activity by binned inflow amounts.

Outflows

A suite of ~1,700 attributes that details the outflow behavior for the account(s) and looks at binned outflow amounts that are trended at a daily, weekly, and monthly level. Day of week specific outflow activity is especially useful for optimizing ACH withdrawals.

Overdraft

A suite of ~225 attributes that details the account specific as well as combined account level overdraft behavior. Current status, counts, trends, and historical overdrafts are calculated against day of week, weekly, and monthly behavior.

Affordability

A suite of ~350 attributes unique in the bank transaction space that provides a detailed look at daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly spending obligations balanced against non-obligated spending. Specific metrics look at counts, amounts, overdrafts, and trend the affordability for each obligation type.

Behavior

A suite of ~2,000 attributes that covers more than 30 spending and income behaviors across the ValidiFI cycle.

Behaviors include consumer financing, cell phone/telco, utilities, credit cards, payroll, transfers amongst many others.

Summary

A suite of ~250 quick-start credit policy and summary statistics. Information provided includes KYC flags, 6 types of income estimators, affordability recommendations, detailed inflows and obligated spending, and weekly and day of week metrics.

Data dictionary

Our data network identifies how often a bank account has been presented for payment and analyzes the bank/payment behavior to better predict financial outcomes.

ValidiFI's proprietary database of linkages between accounts and PII elements results in a set of verification and payment behavior attributes that can be used to identify risk, fraud, and ability to afford payment(s) for underwriting / onboarding of bank accounts.
